Optimist Family Fun Fair here at the Trethewey House June 16th

Hi All;

We’ve received an invitation to our Artisans to attend the Optimist Family Fun Fair here at the Trethewey House on June 16th. The Optimists have asked that we bring the Reik Felag Viking Village back, and they also want to expand on that the theme of historical re-enactment and skills transmission. What they’d like to do is invite anyone that’s been sat at home over the long winter months working on projects, A&S or otherwise, to come for a show and tell. Obviously there will be “general public” here on the day, but they are trying to stuff the site with people that make historical projects by hand, so that everyone can see what other people are doing, become inspired, learn from each other and just generally have an opportunity to shine.

Participants can be garbed or not, tables and chairs will be provided, the Optimist club feeds everyone free hotdogs and drinks and there will be coffee and tea and all that, as well.

If this goes well, they am hoping to grow the idea for next year and make it bigger, have prizes and so on, but this year, they are just testing the waters.
