Lionsdale A & S Championship at Winters Tourney

datePosted on 19:16, January 4th, 2012 by Webminister

Lionsdale A & S Championship :

1. The competition will be a single entry ( but a person may enter more than one piece if they are different pieces )

2. No theme ( so as not to exclude anyone ),

3. With documentation.

4 The competitors will give an oral presentation for up to 15 minutes about the piece.

5. If possible though not required I would like to see the pieces be donated to Lionsdale largess ( This is so the artists word – fame will grow and well as the shires ).

6. In progress entries are welcome for commentary but will not be considered for Shire Champion competition.

Those bringing projects for commentary please inform the current A&S Champion, Sir Kerrigan, or our A&S Minister Kayleigh de Leis of their intention as soon as possible to ensure time, space, and adequate judges.

If the pieces are to be donated they should be accompanied by a recipe card size tag with the artists name, branch and brief summary of the documentation so the future receiver with have a full understanding and appreciation of the piece.

The prize will be a carved Leather pouch custom made by Sir Kerrigan after discussion with the winner.

Trethewey House Demo

datePosted on 14:43, July 6th, 2011 by Webminister

Come on out and join us for the Trethewey House Demo.

Activities:

Dancing: They have a wonderful gazebo for the dancers all day.

Arts & Sciences: we will have a large space for arts and sciences projects current,
complete, or just starting. Weaving was a huge hit at Abbotsford’s Canada day
festivities, and I’d love to see everyone’s current projects.

Armoured combat: there will be a lot of fighting at the demo, including a tourney around 12:30.
I will be putting up two sticks of rattan as a prize for the winner of the tourney.

Rapier: Similarly we will have lots of rapier, and the winner of the tourney (around 2:00) will be
receiving a new bog coat for those cold days (we’ve been having a few too many of
those recently)

I’m afraid we don’t have archery this year, but if you would like to bring out your
archery gear to show off how amazing it is please do.

If you want to bring your cut and thrust gear I would love for us to have some C&T
if we get enough people.

The demo will be setting up at 9 am, and we expect there to be visitors by 10.
We’ll be wrapping up around 5 pm.
